CIA vs. Bush

Hard Starboard writes,

According to Mossad, the Israeli intelligence service, the mullahs will have the capability to start manufacturing nuclear warheads, and therefore back up their threats to "wipe Israel off the map" in, not ten years as the CIA has idiotically suggested, but a few months

The CIA disagrees with another foreign intelligence service, just as they did with the uranium in Niger story. After the Plame/Wilson debacle, does the administration do anything that might anger the liberals in the CIA bureaucracy? Do they tremble at the possibility of leaks from the CIA that will make the administration look bad? I do not think it is an exaggeration to say that liberals in the CIA have done the opposite of their mission: they have made America less secure.

I'm no fan of the modern CIA, but the only 10 year estimate for a nuclear Iran I'm finding was made in 1993. My search term was: cia nuclear iran "ten years" and came up with a few hits pointing to James Woolsey, then Director of Central Intelligence, as the source of the estimate. Was there something more recent?

To me, the bigger story is how little attention this has gotten. I doubt anyone's even a little surprised by Mossad's statement, so why the hell was this allowed to happen?
