Another Brilliant Plan From the Wile E. Coyote Party

Drudge reports that the Democrats have finally come up with a plan to defeat Alito. Alito belonged to some organization at Princeton called Concerned Alumni of Princeton. Someone -- not Alito -- wrote something racist once in their magazine.

One Democrat Hill staffer involved in their strategy declared, “Put a fork in Scalito. It doesn’t matter that Alito didn’t write it, it doesn’t matter that Alito wasn’t that active in the group, Foote wrote it in CAP’s magazine and we are going to make Alito own it.”

The naked cynicism in that statement is disturbing. That staffer is practically admitting that they’re going to smear Alito. This is the face of the modern Democrat Party. All they know, all they understand, is character assassination. If someone in the bowels of party headquarters said, “Let’s make a philosophical case against Alito,” the rest of the people in the room would stare at him and blink.

If this is the best the Dems have, they’re chilling the champagne in the White House.
