Following the Logic

John Edwards was at a Hollywood fundraiser.

The aggressively photogenic John Edwards was cruising along, detailing his litany of liberal causes last week until, during question time, he invoked the "I" word -- Israel. Perhaps the greatest short-term threat to world peace, Edwards remarked, was the possibility that Israel would bomb Iran's nuclear facilities. As a chill descended on the gathering, the Edwards event was brought to a polite close.

I don’t know why those Hollywood liberals would grow chilly about Edwards’s idea. It makes perfect sense from the pacifist point of view. If free countries would just stop fighting back and appease dictatorships, there would be no more war. Of course, there would be no more freedom either, but what does the left care about that? They’ve been working for over a century to destroy freedom in America.

Whenever I hear Leftists pass air out of their mouths, part of me would really like to see them get exactly what they are asking for - and be there to laugh in their face as they are hauled off to the Gulag. Look at it this way - the lifespan of those who pushed for and helped bring Hitler and Lenin to power was not very long once they had achieved their goals. And Hollywood - well, that would be one of the very first places a dictatorship, any dictatorship, even and especially a Politically Correct dictatorship would crack down on.

The problem with that, of course, is for the Leftists to get that which they ask for and so richly deserve - well, that means that I and any other decent, innocent person will also be subjected to the same sort of hell and end up in the same Gulag.

As for ambulance chasing trial lawyer Edwards - well, I really do admire Rush Limbaugh's ability to come up with nicknames that are so appropriate and fitting. His nickname for Edwards: The Breck Girl.
