We're in the same big box. I'm a little further left and one small box more Authoritarian. I think some of the questions were ambiguous and not necessarily what the test maker had in mind.

Interesting quiz. But as with all tests of this type, it is loaded with false alternatives; ie:

On the left side are pacifists and anti-war activists. On the right side are those who want a strong military that intervenes around the world.

Gee, pacifism or altruistic nation-building. Some choice. The test makers do not understand the evil of initiatory force and since they have not integrated with the NIOF principle, their questions often present false alternatives.

I came .04 away from being a perfect 10 right-winger.

My test results were very close to yours, Myrhaf.

Madmax,

I agree with you. There are some genuine article false alternatives there. I dealt with them by decreasing their importance but it's still a bad fit.

Another interesting thing about that site is that the average results show that most people really are centerists. I take this as representing the fact that the welfare state and altruism are accepted by pretty much the everyone but that extreme altruism and socialism are not (as well as theocracy or religious authoritarianism).

The status quo is for a moderate welfare / regulatory state with some religious conservatism but not too much. Basically that's present day America.

Freedom is still controversial in America. I doubt that the next Republican president will repeal ObamaCare. It is hard to combat the 12 years of collectivist-statist indoctrination every public school student gets. Only the most unusual minds survive the indoctrination with the ability to think independently.

We're still heading for the waterfall. Despite the Tea Party, nothing much has changed.

Yes. Sadly, I agree. I wonder if our generation of America will bear witness to the second fall of Rome.

My results were Right: 10, Libertarian: 8.89

I suspect the only difference between our results, Myrhaf, is how we chose to interpret the questions which were false choices. I spotted at least three such false choices, possibly five depending on interpretation.

I also get frustrated with the Myers-Briggs tests because they set up false alternatives. They ask, "either this or that" and I think, "Well, why not both?"

Or, indeed, neither!

Yeah I hear you on M-B. I remember thinking it was so very profound back in high school, when I took it. I answered in some combination that apparently only 1% of people answer with. Except, as I later learned, just about everyone on the internet answered that way. Then, a while later, I learned how the whole thing was basically pointless because the questions were too vague or false alternatives.

I always come out INTP, which is supposed to be 1% of the population. I sent the description to my family and they all said something like, "Oh, that's TOTALLY YOU!" So I don't know what to think.

Yeah, that one and INTJ are the really rare ones, which I test as, depending on how I choose to answer the vague and/or false choice questions.

Except, apparently most people on the internet are also those.
